Geisha’s Mojito

Christmas in Asia is in the middle of winter and we normally have Christmas cake to celebrate. But I have been in NZ for 18 years and have developed the enjoyment of a HOT summer Christmas. This is a great drink when you are a bit unfamiliar and new to the taste of sake – or simply you want to have different way to enjoy the sake you may have at home! I came up with this one Christmas when I wanted to make something special for our friends – something cool, sexy and festive to start the day off and this was born – Geisha’s Mojito.  I have been having one every year since!

Serves: 1

Preparation Time: 3 minutes

Ingredients:
2 oz (60ml) Sake
1 oz (30ml) Blackcurrant fruit cordial Ice cubes
Handful of Mint leaves
1/2 lime, cut into 4 wedges
1/2 cup of tonic/soda water

Method:

1.Place mint leaf in a glass and squeeze 2 lime wedges. Use muddler to bruise mint to release mint flavour.
2.Fill the glass with ice and add sake and black currant cordial

3.Top up with soda or tonic water and stir well.
4.Add a couple more ice cubes and garnish with lime wedges
